Our Color Identifiers
The logo color palette consists of NYU Langone Medical Center Purple and Gray, our well-established brand colors.
In addition to the logo artwork, these colors may be used for backgrounds, text, rules, containing shapes and other visual devices in a layout. In addition to these primary colors below, white and black may be used. White is the preferred background color in print communications. Black may be used for text and lines.
These color samples below are approximations only for Pantone colors.
Primary Color Palette
Purple
PMS 2597
CMYK C-85, M-100, Y-0, K-0
This purple is the primary brand identifier and the foundation of the palette. It should always be included in the design. It may be used in type of all sizes, but is best used in headlines, subheads and callouts. It may be used as full page of color but it should not be over used in this manner. It may also be used as lines (rules). It should only be used at 100% and may never be used as a tint or gradation.
Yellow

CMYK C-0, M-10, Y-100, K-0
Our yellow is the primary complementary color to the purple. It should always be considered for use with the purple in the design. It may be used in large type only, and is best as lines (rules), background or tints. It may be used as full page of color but it should not be over used in this manner.
Gray

CMYK C-0, M-2, Y-0, K-68
Our gray is the neutral complementary color to the purple and yellow. It should always be considered for use in the design. It may be used in type of all sizes and is recommended for body text. It may also be used as lines (rules), background or tints. It may be used as full page of color but it should not be over used in this manner.
Secondary Color
Teal

CMYK C-100, M-0, Y-54, K-20
This teal green is an excellent complement to the purple, yellow and gray. It is best used in headlines, subheads and callouts, but it should not be used for body text. It may also be used as lines (rules) or tints. It should not be used as a full page of color.
