Levit Medical In Brooklyn Becomes NYU Langone Medical Center’s Newest Faculty Group Practice
Effective today, Levit Medical in Brooklyn has become NYU Langone Medical Center’s newest Faculty Group Practice. The practice will maintain its three sites in Midwood, Bensonhurst and Canarsie, offering patients a full range of diagnostic and treatment services and, for more complex procedures and surgery, seamless access to outpatient and inpatient care at NYU Langone.
“We’re actively expanding our medical center’s footprint in Brooklyn by bringing on board practices with outstanding reputations and records of service within their communities,” said Andrew W. Brotman, MD, senior vice president and vice dean for clinical affairs and strategy, chief clinical officer, NYU Langone. “NYU Langone Levit Medical is another example of our ongoing efforts to provide communities outside of Manhattan, allowing patients and providers to benefit from the depth of services provided that may not be generally available at a physician’s office. These centers give people local access to the world-class expertise in specialties NYU Langone is known for.”
NYU Langone Levit Medical is staffed by 14 full-time physicians and 18 part-time physicians serving a diverse community. “Being part of NYU Langone will give us opportunities to not only strengthen our existing level of high quality care, but to also develop additional specialized services to meet the diverse healthcare needs of our community,” said Susan Levit, MD, medical director of NYU Langone Levit Medical, and clinical assistant professor of medicine, NYU School of Medicine.
