NYU Langone Leads New Clinical Trial in U.S. to Evaluate Next Generation Transcatheter Valve

Researchers at NYU Langone Medical Center in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery announced they are co-leading a new clinical study evaluating the next-generation Medtronic CoreValve EvolutR System. The trial will evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the novel investigational self-expanding valve used during transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) surgery. NYU Langone Medical Center announced today that Jeffrey N. Weiser, MD, has been appointed as the new chair of the Department of Microbiology, effective January 1, 2015.    An internationally recognized expert in the molecular basis of infectious disease, Dr. Weiser hails from the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine, where he has been a professor of microbiology and pediatrics.    Read More
