Spine Surgeon John M. Olsewski Joins NYU Langone Orthopaedics At Westchester

Joseph D. Zuckerman, the Walter A. L. Thompson Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and chair, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at NYU Langone Medical Center announced today that John M. Olsewski, MD, has been appointed clinical professor, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Division of Spine Service, NYU Langone Medical Center.

A recognized leader in adult reconstructive spine surgery, Dr. Olsewski will see patients at NYU Langone Medical Center’s Orthopaedics at Westchester, a satellite orthopaedic practice located at the Westchester Medical Pavilion, 311 North Street in White Plains, New York. In addition he will continue to see patients in his Bronx office.   

Prior to joining NYU Langone Medical Center, Dr. Olsewski was on the faculty of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine for 17 years, where he was clinical professor of orthopaedic surgery and also served as interim chairman and residency director for the orthopaedic surgery department.  He received his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and completed his spine Fellowship at the Twin Cities Scoliosis-Spine Center at the University of Minnesota. He is also on the board of directors of the New York State Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and an orthopaedic representative of the Medical Society of the State of New York.

Dr. Olsewski is an active member of American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American College of Surgeons, North American Spine Society, Scoliosis Research Society and the Westchester County Medical Society. He is a frequent presenter at orthopaedic and spine surgery conferences, and regularly authors academic book chapters and journal articles in publications such as the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Spine, and Arthroscopy.
