NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases Surgeon Honored by the YWCA and the Academy of Women Leaders Advisory Council

NEW YORK — Gail Chorney, M.D., medical director for ambulatory care services at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases (NYUHJD) and assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery at the NYU School of Medicine, will be honored by the YWCA of the City of New York and the Academy of Women Leaders (AWL) Advisory Council in recognition of providing high-quality care to economically disadvantaged patients with disorders of the bones, nerves and muscles.

Dr. Chorney is among a select group of female executives and leaders who will be inducted into the Academy of Women Leaders on November 17. Dr. Chorney will join a network of nearly 3,000 women recognized for their leadership, achievement, and contributions to their companies, institutions and communities.

Dr. Chorney has also been involved with Minds Matter NYC, a not-for-profit organization that brings high-achieving high-school students from low-income families together with dedicated mentors to achieve academic excellence and expand educational horizons.
