NYU Langone Medical Center is proud to announce that is has been recognized as a leader in lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) healthcare equality by the Human Rights Campaign in its annual 2012 Healthcare Equality Index Report (HEI). The Human Rights Campaign is the largest civil rights organization in the country working to achieve equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans.

NYU Langone Medical Center announced today that Michele Lloyd has been appointed the new vice president for children’s services at the medical center. In this newly created position she will be responsible for helping to ensure the seamless integration of all pediatric and pediatric sub-specialty services for children and their families as lead administrator for children’s services.

NYU Langone Medical Center is one of only two hospitals in New York City to be awarded with an “A” Hospital Safety ScoreSM by The Leapfrog Group for excellence in patient safety.

The Department of Neurosurgery at NYU Langone Medical Center has established a unique, multidisciplinary neuromodulation center for the treatment of complex neurological conditions including movement disorders like Parkinson’s disease, chronic pain and psychiatric conditions such as obsessive compulsive disorder and severe depression.

NYU Langone Medical Center’s Cardiac and Vascular Institute is once again the sponsor for the American Heart Association (AHA) Wall Street Run and Walk scheduled for Thursday, May 31 in New York City. The medical center has participated in the event since its inception 30 years ago.
